The Park County Library is partnering with VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) to provide free tax help to individuals, families, and persons with disabilities, with an income of $70,500 or less, from January 26 through April 15.

Drop-Off Option
VITA also provides a drop-off service. Taxpayers may drop off their documents in the secure drop box located inside the Cody Library. After the volunteers prepare the return, taxpayers will receive a phone call to make an appointment to pick up, review, and sign the documents.
Pick-up times for completed returns will be available any day I am at the library or by special arrangement made with the Site Coordinator. The Taxpayer will come in for a 15-minute appointment to review and sign the completed return and pick up their documents.
Before coming to the library, be sure to review Gathering Your Tax Documents and Intake Interview and Quality Review. This will save you a lot of time and unnecessary trips to the library.
As a Reminder
- Please bring your Prior Year Tax Returns if this is the first time you have been to our site.
- Please bring Driver’s License or Photo ID and Social Security Card for all members of the Tax Return.
- Please bring all Income Documents (W2, 1099 Misc. or NEC, 1099 R, 1099 SSA, Brokerage Statements, etc…).
- If you received Overtime Pay or Tip Income during the tax year, please bring your final paystub or ytd. total statement from your employer as proof.
- If you are an Independent Contractor, please bring any Expenses you are claiming.
- If you are Itemizing your Deductions, please bring proof and Forms (Property Taxes, 1098 Mortgage Statement, Charitable Deductions).
PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT DO RENTALS (SCH E) or FARMS (SCH F or FORM 4835) at VITA. If you have one of these and want to claim a Rental or Farm on your Tax Return, DO NOT SCHEDULE HERE.
